Psalm 78:40

How often they ^arebelled against Him in the wilderness

And ^bgrieved Him in the ^cwasteland!

Psalm 95:10

For ^aforty years I loathed that generation,

And said they are a people who wander in their heart,

And they do not know My ways.

51 “You men—^astiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears—are always resisting the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you.

30 ^aAnd do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, ¹by whom you were ^bsealed for the day of redemption.

^aTherefore I was angry with this generation,

And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart,

And they did not know My ways’;

17 And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, ^awhose corpses fell in the wilderness?
