Psalm 50:7-15

“^aHear, O My people, and I will speak;

O Israel, I will testify ¹against you;

I am God, ^byour God.

I do ^anot reprove you for your sacrifices,

And your burnt offerings are continually before Me.

I shall take no ^ayoung bull out of your house

Nor male goats out of your folds.

For ^aevery beast of the forest is Mine,

The cattle on a thousand hills.

I know every ^abird of the mountains,

And everything that moves in the field is ¹Mine.

If I were hungry I would not tell you,

For the ^aworld is Mine, as well as its fullness.

Shall I eat the flesh of ¹^abulls

Or drink the blood of male goats?

Offer to God ^aa sacrifice of thanksgiving

And ^bpay your vows to the Most High;

^aCall upon Me in the day of distress;

I shall ^brescue you, and you will ^cglorify Me.”

Isaiah 1:11

“^aWhat are your multiplied sacrifices to Me?”

Says Yahweh.

“I ¹have had enough of burnt offerings of rams

And the fat of fed cattle;

And in the blood of bulls, lambs, or goats ²I take no pleasure.

Learn to do good;

^aSeek justice,

Reprove the ruthless,

^bExecute justice for the ¹orphan,

Plead for the widow.
