Psalm 137:7

Remember, O Yahweh, against the sons of ^aEdom

The day of Jerusalem,

Who said, “Tear it down! Tear it down

^bTo its very foundation.”

Lamentations 4:22

The punishment of your iniquity has come ^ato an end, O daughter of Zion;

He will exile you no longer.

But He ^bwill punish your iniquity, O daughter of Edom;

He will expose your sins!

“Because of ^aviolence to your brother Jacob,

¹You will be covered with shame,

^bAnd you will be cut off forever.

On the day that you ^astood aloof,

On the day that strangers took his wealth captive

And foreigners entered his gate

And ^bcast lots for Jerusalem—

^cYou too were as one of them.

^aNow do not look on your brother’s day with triumph,

The day of his misfortune.

And ^bdo not be glad over the sons of Judah

In the day when they perish;

And ^cdo not ¹let your mouth speak great things

In the day of their distress.

Do not enter the gate of My people

In the ^aday of their disaster.

Indeed, you, do not look on their calamity with triumph

In the day of their disaster.

And do not ^bsend out for their wealth

In the day of their disaster.

Do not ^astand at the fork of the road

To cut down those among them who escape;

And do not deliver over their survivors

In the day of their distress.
