Psalm 4:1

¹For the choir director. With stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.

^aAnswer me when ^bI call, O God ²of my righteousness!

You have ³^crelieved me in my distress;

Be ^dgracious to me and ^ehear my prayer.

Psalm 17:1

A Prayer of David.

Hear a ^arighteous cause, O Yahweh, ^bgive heed to my cry of lamentation;

^cGive ear to my prayer, which is not from ^ddeceitful lips.

I have ^acalled upon You, for You will answer me, O God;

^bIncline Your ear to me, hear my speech.

In my ^adistress I called upon Yahweh,

And cried to my God for help;

He heard my voice ^bout of His temple,

And my ^ccry for help before Him came into His ears.

^aIncline Your ear to me, deliver me quickly;

Be to me a ^brock of ¹strength,

A fortress to save me.

For my life is worn down with ^asorrow

And my years with sighing;

My ^bstrength fails because of my iniquity,

And ^cmy bones waste away.

But the ^awicked will perish;

And the enemies of Yahweh will be like the ¹glory of the pastures,

They vanish—^bin smoke they vanish away.
