Jeremiah 8:10

Therefore I will ^agive their wives to others,

Their fields to ¹new possessors,

Because from the least even to the greatest

Everyone is ^bgreedy for gain;

From the prophet even to the priest

Everyone practices lying.

Isaiah 56:11

And the dogs have a ^astrong ¹appetite; they do not know satisfaction.

And they are shepherds who ^bdo not know understanding;

They have all ^cturned to their own way,

Each one to his greedy gain, to the last one.

Her heads pronounce ^ajudgment for a bribe,

And her ^bpriests instruct for a price,

And her prophets divine for money.

Yet they lean on Yahweh saying,

“^cIs not Yahweh in our midst?

Evil will not come upon us.”
