Zechariah’s Prophecy
67 And his father Zechariah awas filled with the Holy Spirit and bprophesied, saying,
68 a“Blessed be the Lord bGod of Israel,
for he has cvisited and dredeemed his people
69 and ahas raised up ba horn of salvation for us
cin the house of his servant David,
70 aas bhe spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old,
71 athat we should be saved from our enemies
and from the hand of all who hate us;
72 ato show the mercy promised to our fathers
and bto remember his holy ccovenant,
73 athe oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us
74 that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies,
might serve him awithout fear,
75 ain holiness and righteousness before him ball our days.
76 And you, child, will be called athe prophet of bthe Most High;
for cyou will go before the Lord to prepare his ways,
77 to give knowledge of salvation to his people
ain the forgiveness of their sins,
78 because of the atender mercy of our God,
whereby bthe sunrise shall cvisit us dfrom on high
79 to agive light to bthose who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into cthe way of dpeace.”
