Numbers 25:1-3

Israel Sacrifices to Baal

And Israel remained at ^aShittim, and the people began ^bto play the harlot with the daughters of Moab. 2 Indeed ^athey called the people to the sacrifices of their gods, and the people ate and bowed down to their gods. 3 So ^aIsrael joined themselves to ¹Baal of Peor, and the anger of Yahweh burned against Israel.
