Jeremiah 51:38

They will roar together like ^ayoung lions;

They will growl like lions’ cubs.

Jeremiah 51:39

When they become heated up, I will set before them their feast

And ^amake them drunk, that they may exult

And may ^bsleep a perpetual sleep

And not wake up,” declares Yahweh.

You who were full of noise,

You roaring city, you ^aexultant town;

Your slain were ^bnot slain with the sword,

Nor ¹did they die in battle.
