Jeremiah 27:19-22
19 For thus says Yahweh of hosts concerning the apillars, concerning the sea, concerning the stands, and concerning the rest of the vessels that are left in this city, 20 which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon did not take when he acarried away into exile Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem. 21 Indeed, thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of Yahweh and in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem, 22 ‘They will be abrought to Babylon, and they will be there until the bday I visit them,’ declares Yahweh. ‘Then I will cbring them up and return them to this place.’”
Jeremiah 33:14-26
The Righteous Branch of David
14 ‘Behold, adays are coming,’ declares Yahweh, ‘when I will bestablish the good word which I have spoken concerning the house of Israel and the house of Judah. 15 In those days and at that time I will cause a arighteous Branch of David to branch forth; and He shall do bjustice and righteousness on the earth. 16 In those days aJudah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell in security; and this is the name by which she will be called: bYahweh is our righteousness.’ 17 For thus says Yahweh, ‘David shall anot have a man cut off from sitting on the throne of the house of Israel; 18 and the aLevitical priests shall not have a man cut off from before Me who is to offer burnt offerings, to offer up grain offerings in smoke, and to bperform sacrifices continually.’”
19 Then the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, saying, 20 “Thus says Yahweh, ‘If you can abreak My covenant for the day and My covenant for the night, so that day and night will not be at their appointed time, 21 then aMy covenant may also be broken with David My servant so that he will not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levitical priests, My ministers. 22 As the ahost of heaven cannot be counted and the bsand of the sea cannot be measured, so I will cmultiply the seed of David My servant and the dLevites who minister to Me.’”
23 And the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, saying, 24 “Have you not seen what this people have spoken, saying, ‘The atwo families which Yahweh chose, He has brejected them’? Thus they have cspurned My people from being a nation any longer in their sight. 25 Thus says Yahweh, ‘If My acovenant for day and night stand not, and the statutes for heaven and earth I have bnot established, 26 then I would areject the seed of Jacob and David My servant, not taking from his seed brulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But I will creturn their fortunes and will have dcompassion on them.’”
Jeremiah 39:4-14
4 Now it happened that when Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, they afled and went out of the city at night by way of the king’s garden through the gate bbetween the two walls; and he went out toward the Arabah. 5 But the military force of the aChaldeans pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the bplains of Jericho; and they took him and brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon at cRiblah in the land of Hamath, and he spoke judgment on him. 6 Then the aking of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah bbefore his eyes at Riblah; the king of Babylon also slaughtered all the cnobles of Judah. 7 He then ablinded Zedekiah’s eyes and bound him in bfetters of bronze to bring him to cBabylon. 8 The Chaldeans also aburned with fire the house of the king and the houses of the people, and they btore down the walls of Jerusalem. 9 And as for the rest of the people who remained in the city, the adefectors who had gone over to him and bthe rest of the people who remained, cNebuzaradan the dcaptain of the bodyguard took them away into exile in Babylon. 10 But some of the apoorest people who had nothing, aNebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard had them remain in the land of Judah and gave them vineyards and fields at that time.
Jeremiah Delivered
11 Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon gave a command about aJeremiah through Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard, saying, 12 “Take him and set your eyes to look after him and ado nothing harmful to him, but rather deal with him just as he speaks to you.” 13 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard sent word, along with Nebushazban the Rab-saris and Nergal-sar-ezer the Rab-mag and all the leading officers of the king of Babylon; 14 they even sent and atook Jeremiah out of the court of the guard and gave him over to bGedaliah, the son of cAhikam, the son of Shaphan, to take him home. So he stayed among the people.
