Isaiah 24:17

^aPanic and pit and pitfall

Are upon you, O inhabitant of the earth.

Isaiah 24:18

Then it will be that he who flees the sound of panic will fall into the pit,

And he who ¹climbs out of the pit will be caught in the pitfall;

For the ^awindows ²above are opened, and the ^bfoundations of the earth quake.

^aPanic and pit and pitfall are coming upon you,

O inhabitant of Moab,” declares Yahweh.

“The one who ^aflees from the panic

Will fall into the pit,

And the one who climbs up out of the pit

Will be caught in the pitfall;

For I shall bring upon her, even upon Moab,

The year of their ^bpunishment,” declares Yahweh.
