Song of Songs 4

Solomon Admires His Bride’s Beauty

He

Behold, ayou are beautiful, my love,
behold, you are beautiful!
bYour eyes are doves
cbehind your veil.
dYour hair is like a flock of goats
leaping down ethe slopes of Gilead.

2
Your ateeth are like a flock of shorn ewes
that have come up from the washing,
all of which bear twins,
and not one among them has lost its young.

3
Your lips are like aa scarlet thread,
and your mouth is blovely.
Your ccheeks are like halves of a pomegranate
dbehind your veil.

4
Your aneck is like the tower of David,
built in brows of stone;1
on it chang a thousand shields,
all of dthem shields of warriors.

5
Your atwo breasts are like two bfawns,
twins of a gazelle,
that cgraze among the lilies.

6
aUntil the day breathes
and the shadows flee,
I will go away to the mountain of bmyrrh
and the hill of bfrankincense.

7
aYou are altogether beautiful, my love;
there is no bflaw in you.

8
aCome with me from bLebanon, my cbride;
come with me from bLebanon.
Depart1 from the peak of Amana,
from the peak of dSenir and eHermon,
from the dens of lions,
from the mountains of leopards.

9
You have captivated my heart, my asister, my bride;
you have captivated my heart with one glance of your eyes,
with one bjewel of your necklace.

10
How beautiful is your love, my asister, my bride!
How much bbetter is your love than wine,
and cthe fragrance of your oils than any spice!

11
Your alips drip nectar, my bride;
bhoney and milk are under your tongue;
the fragrance of your garments is clike the fragrance of dLebanon.

12
A garden locked is my asister, my bride,
a spring locked, ba fountain csealed.

13
Your shoots are aan orchard of pomegranates
with all bchoicest fruits,
chenna with dnard,

14
nard and saffron, acalamus and acinnamon,
with all trees of bfrankincense,
cmyrrh and daloes,
with all achoice spices—

15
a garden fountain, a well of aliving water,
and flowing streams from bLebanon.

16
Awake, O north wind,
and come, O south wind!
Blow upon my agarden,
let its spices flow.

She

bLet my beloved come to his cgarden,

and eat its dchoicest fruits.
