Matthew 9:18-26

Miracles of Healing

18 aWhile He was saying these things to them, behold, 1a synagogue 2official came and 3bwas bowing down before Him, and said, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.”
19 And Jesus got up and began to follow him, and so did His disciples.
20 And behold, a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched athe 1fringe of His 2garment;
21 for she was saying 1to herself, “If I only atouch His garment, I will 2be saved from this.” 22 But Jesus turning and seeing her said, “Daughter, atake courage; byour faith has 1saved you.” 2At once the woman was 3saved from her hemorrhage.
23 And when Jesus came into the 1official’s house, and saw athe flute-players and the crowd in noisy disorder,
24 He was saying, “Leave; for the girl ahas not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him. 25 But awhen the crowd had been sent out, coming in, He btook her by the hand, and the girl 1got up. 26 aAnd this news spread throughout all that land.

Luke 8:41-56

41 aAnd behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was 1ban official of the synagogue. And falling at Jesus’ feet, he began to plead with Him to come to his house, 42 for he had an 1only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying. But as He went, the crowds were pressing against Him.
43 And a woman who had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and could not be healed by anyone,
44 came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment, and immediately her hemorrhage stopped. 45 And Jesus said, “Who is the one who touched Me?” And while they were all denying it, Peter said, “aMaster, the crowds are surrounding and pressing in on You.” 46 But Jesus said, “Someone did touch Me, for I knew that apower had gone out of Me.” 47 And when the woman saw that she had not escaped notice, she came trembling. And falling down before Him, she declared in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched Him and how she had been immediately healed. 48 And He said to her, “Daughter, ayour faith has 1saved you; bgo in peace.”
49 While He was still speaking, someone *came from the house of athe synagogue official, saying, “Your daughter has died; do not trouble the Teacher anymore.”
50 But when Jesus heard this, He answered him, “aDo not be afraid any longer; only believe, and she will be 1saved.” 51 So when He came to the house, He did not allow anyone to enter with Him, except Peter and John and James, and the girl’s father and mother. 52 Now they were all crying and alamenting for her, but He said, “Stop crying, for she has not died, but bis asleep.” 53 And they began laughing at Him, knowing that she had died. 54 He, however, took her by the hand and called, saying, “Child, arise!” 55 And her spirit returned, and she stood up immediately. And He gave orders for something to be given her to eat. 56 And her parents were astounded, but He adirected them to tell no one what had happened.
