Contributions for the Sanctuary
Then Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “aSpeak with the sons of Israel so that they take a contribution for Me; bfrom every man whose heart is willing you shall take My contribution. 3 And this is the contribution which you shall take from them: gold, silver, and bronze, 4 ablue, purple, and scarlet material, fine linen, goat hair, 5 rams’ skins dyed red, porpoise skins, acacia wood, 6 aoil for lighting, bspices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, 7 onyx stones, and setting stones for the aephod and for the bbreastpiece. 8 And let them amake a sanctuary for Me, bthat I may dwell among them. 9 aAccording to all that I am going to show you, as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, just so you shall make it.
The Ark of the Testimony
10 “aAnd they shall make an ark of acacia wood two and a half cubits long, and one and a half cubits wide, and one and a half cubits high. 11 You shall aoverlay it with pure gold, inside and out you shall overlay it, and you shall make a gold molding around it. 12 You shall cast four gold rings for it and fasten them on its four feet, and two rings shall be on one side of it and two rings on the other side of it. 13 You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. 14 You shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, to carry the ark with them. 15 The apoles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be removed from it. 16 You shall aput into the ark the testimony which I shall give you.
17 “You shall amake a mercy seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubits wide. 18 You shall make two cherubim of gold; make them of hammered work at the two ends of the mercy seat. 19 Make one cherub at one end and one cherub at the other end; from one piece you shall make the mercy seat with the cherubim at its two ends. 20 aThe cherubim shall have their wings spread upward, covering the mercy seat with their wings, with their faces toward one another; the faces of the cherubim are to be toward the mercy seat. 21 aYou shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and bin the ark you shall put the testimony which I will give to you. 22 aThere I will meet with you; and from above the mercy seat, from bbetween the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, I will speak to you about all which I will command you for the sons of Israel.
Bread of the Presence
23 “aYou shall make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long and one cubit wide and one and a half cubits high. 24 You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a gold aborder around it. 25 You shall make for it a rim of a handbreadth around it; and you shall make a gold border for the rim around it. 26 You shall make four gold rings for it and put rings on the four corners which are on its four feet. 27 The rings shall be close to the rim as holders for the poles to carry the table. 28 You shall make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, so that with them the table may be carried. 29 You shall make its adishes and its pans and its jars and its offering bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold. 30 You shall set athe bread of the Presence on the table before Me at all times.
The Golden Lampstand
31 “aThen you shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand, its base, and its shaft are to be made of hammered work; its cups, its bulbs, and its flowers shall be of the same piece. 32 aSix branches shall go out from its sides; three branches of the lampstand from its one side and three branches of the lampstand from its other side. 33 aThree cups shall be shaped like almond blossoms in the one branch, a bulb and a flower, and three cups shaped like almond blossoms in the other branch, a bulb and a flower—so for the six branches going out from the lampstand; 34 and ain the lampstand four cups shaped like almond blossoms, its bulbs and its flowers. 35 aAnd a bulb shall be under the first pair of branches coming out of it, and a bulb under the second pair of branches coming out of it, and a bulb under the third pair of branches coming out of it, for the six branches coming out of the lampstand. 36 aTheir bulbs and their branches shall be of the same piece; all of it shall be one piece of hammered work of pure gold. 37 Then you shall make its lamps seven in number; and athey shall mount its lamps so as to shed light on the space in front of it. 38 And its tongs and their trays shall be of pure gold. 39 It shall be made from a talent of pure gold, with all these utensils. 40 aAnd see that you make them bafter the pattern for them, which was shown to you on the mountain.
Exodus 30:1-38

“Moreover, you shall make aan altar as a place for burning incense; you shall make it of acacia wood. 2 Its length shall be a cubit, and its width a cubit; it shall be square. And its height shall be two cubits; its horns shall be of the same piece. 3 You shall overlay it with pure gold, its top and its sides all around, and its horns; and you shall make a gold molding all around for it. 4 You shall make two gold rings for it under its molding; you shall make them on its two side walls—on opposite sides—and they shall be holders for poles with which to carry it. 5 You shall make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. 6 You shall put this altar in front of the veil that is near the ark of the testimony, in front of the amercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with you. 7 Aaron shall burn fragrant incense on it; he shall burn it every morning when he trims the lamps. 8 When Aaron trims the lamps at twilight, he shall burn incense. There shall be continual incense before Yahweh throughout your generations. 9 You shall not offer any strange incense on this altar or burnt offering or grain offering; and you shall not pour out a drink offering on it. 10 Aaron shall amake atonement on its horns once a year; he shall make atonement on it with the blood of the sin offering of atonement once a year throughout your generations. It is most holy to Yahweh.”
The Census and the Atonement Price
11 Yahweh also spoke to Moses, saying, 12 “When you take aa census of the sons of Israel to number them, then each one of them shall give ba price of atonement for himself to Yahweh when you number them, so that there will be no plague among them when you number them. 13 This is what everyone who is numbered shall give: half a shekel according to the shekel of the sanctuary (athe shekel is twenty gerahs), half a shekel as a contribution to Yahweh. 14 Everyone who is numbered, from twenty years old and over, shall give the contribution to Yahweh. 15 The rich shall not pay more and the poor shall not pay less than the half shekel when you give the contribution to Yahweh to make atonement for your souls. 16 And you shall take the atonement money from the sons of Israel and shall give it for the service of the tent of meeting, that it may be a remembrance for the sons of Israel before Yahweh, to make atonement for your souls.”
The Laver for the Priestly Washing
17 And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 18 “You shall also make aa laver of bronze, with its stand of bronze, for washing; and you shall bput it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and you shall put water in it. 19 And Aaron and his sons shall awash their hands and their feet from it; 20 when they come into the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water, so that they will not die; or when they approach the altar to minister, by offering up in smoke a fire sacrifice to Yahweh. 21 So they shall wash their hands and their feet, so that they will not die; and ait shall be a perpetual statute for them, for Aaron and his seed throughout their generations.”
The Holy Anointing Oil
22 Moreover, Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, 23 “But as for you, take for yourself the finest of spices: of flowing myrrh 500 shekels, and of fragrant cinnamon half as much, 250, and of fragrant cane 250, 24 and of cassia 500, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, and of olive oil a hin. 25 And you shall make of these a holy anointing oil, a perfume mixture, the work of a perfumer; it shall be aa holy anointing oil. 26 And with it ayou shall anoint the tent of meeting and the ark of the testimony, 27 and the table and all its utensils, and the lampstand and its utensils, and the altar of incense, 28 and the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the laver and its stand. 29 You shall also set them apart as holy, that they may be most holy; whatever touches them shall be holy. 30 aAnd you shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and you shall set them apart as holy, that they may minister as priests to Me. 31 And you shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘This shall be a holy anointing oil to Me throughout your generations. 32 It shall not be poured on anyone’s body, nor shall you make any like it in the same specifications; ait is holy, and it shall be holy to you. 33 aWhoever shall mix any like it or whoever puts any of it on a layman bshall be cut off from his people.’”
The Incense
34 Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Take for yourself fragrances, stacte and onycha and galbanum, fragrances with pure frankincense; there shall be an equal part of each. 35 With it you shall make incense, a perfume, the work of a perfumer, salted, pure, and holy. 36 You shall beat some of it very fine, and you shall put part of it before the testimony in the tent of meeting awhere I will meet with you; it shall be most holy to you. 37 The incense which you shall make, ayou shall not make in the same specifications for yourselves; it shall be holy to you for Yahweh. 38 aWhoever shall make any like it, to use as perfume, shall be cut off from his people.”
