Acts 16:1-3

Timothy Joins Paul and Silas

Now Paul also arrived at ^aDerbe and at ^aLystra. And behold, a disciple was there, named ^bTimothy, the son of a ^cJewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek, 2 and he was well spoken of by ^athe brothers who were in ^bLystra and ^cIconium. 3 Paul wanted this man to ¹go with him, and he ^atook him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.
