Matthew 11:16-19

16 “But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their playmates,

17
“‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’

18 For John came aneither eating bnor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’
19 The Son of Man came aeating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, ba friend of ctax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by her deeds.”1

Matthew 11:25-30

Come to Me, and I Will Give You Rest

25 aAt that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, bLord of heaven and earth, that cyou have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and drevealed them to little children;
26 yes, Father, for such was your agracious will.1 27 aAll things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son bexcept the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone cto whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28 aCome to bme, all who labor and are cheavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and alearn from me, for I am bgentle and lowly in heart, and cyou will find rest for your souls. 30 For amy yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
