Proverbs 19:11

A man’s ^ainsight makes him slow to anger,

And it is his honor ^bto overlook a transgression.

Proverbs 19:19

A man of great wrath will bear the penalty,

For if you deliver him, you will only have to do it again.

Do not befriend a man of anger;

And do not come along with a man of ^agreat wrath,

Lest you ^alearn his ways

And take on a snare against your soul.

^aWhen one is slow to anger, a ruler may be persuaded,

And a soft tongue breaks the bone.

Like a ^acity that is broken into and without a wall

Is a man ^bwithout restraint over his spirit.

Like charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire,

So is a ^acontentious man to kindle strife.

An ^aangry man stirs up strife,

And a hot‑tempered man abounds in transgression.
