Proverbs 11:2

When ^aarrogance comes, then comes disgrace,

But with the meek is wisdom.

Proverbs 13:10

With arrogance ¹comes only quarreling,

But with those who receive counsel is wisdom.

Yahweh will ^atear down the house of the proud,

But He will ^bcause the boundary of the ^cwidow to stand.

The ¹fear of Yahweh is the discipline ²leading to wisdom,

And before glory comes humility.

Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to Yahweh;

Assuredly, he will not be unpunished.

^aPride goes before destruction,

And a haughty spirit before stumbling.

It is better to be ^ahumble in spirit with the lowly

Than to ^bdivide the spoil with the proud.

^aBefore destruction the heart of man is haughty,

But ^bhumility goes before glory.

Haughty eyes and a proud heart—

The ^afallow ground of the wicked—are sin.
