Proverbs 10:18

He ^awho covers up hatred has lying lips,

And he who spreads a bad report is a fool.

Proverbs 12:17

He who breathes out truth declares what is right,

But a false witness, deceit.

Truthful lips will be established forever,

But a ^alying tongue is only for a moment.

^aLying lips are an abomination to Yahweh,

But doers of faithfulness are His delight.

A righteous man ^ahates a lying word,

But a wicked man ¹^bacts odiously and is humiliated.

An ^aevildoer gives heed to lips of wickedness;

¹A liar gives ear to a destructive tongue.

“Bad, bad,” says the buyer,

But when he goes his way, then he boasts.

^aBread obtained by lying is sweet to a man,

But afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel.
