Hosea 4:1

^aListen to the word of Yahweh, O sons of Israel,

For Yahweh has a ^bcontention against the inhabitants of the land,

Because there is ^cno truth or ¹lovingkindness

Or ^dknowledge of God in the land.

Isaiah 59:14

^aJustice is turned back,

And ^brighteousness stands far away;

For truth has stumbled in the street,

And rightness cannot enter.

So it is that truth is missing;

And he who turns aside from evil ^amakes himself plunder.

Then Yahweh saw,

And it was evil in His eyes ^bthat there was no justice.
