Genesis 49:17

Dan shall be a serpent in the way,

A horned snake in the path,

That bites the horse’s heels,

So that his rider falls backward.

Jeremiah 8:16

From ^aDan is heard the snorting of his horses;

At the sound of the neighing of his ^bvaliant steeds

The whole land quakes;

And they come and ^cdevour the land as well as its fullness,

The city and its inhabitants.

As for those who swear by the ¹^aguilt of Samaria,

Who say, ‘As your god lives, O ^bDan,’

And, ‘As the way of ^cBeersheba lives,’

They will fall and ^dnot rise again.”
